What You’ll DoAs a Construction Site Superintendent you will oversee all operations of a construction site, from planning to completion, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities- Assume complete responsibility for project construction, ensuring safe, high-quality, timely and cost‑effective execution.
- Function as the sole Design Group job‑site superintendent.
- Apply construction knowledge across concrete, piping, crane operations, structural steel, cladding, roofing, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, interior finishes, and equipment installation.
- Interpret and update construction plans, ensuring subcontractors follow revised drawings.
- Manage the inspection process from progress inspections to Certificate of Occupancy.
- Create site logistics plans (trailer location, material storage, access points, safety signage, temporary utilities).
- Provide technical expertise throughout pre‑construction, reviewing plans, specifications, schedules, and advising the project manager of issues.
- Prepare, manage, and update detailed project schedules with procurement items.
- Lead day‑to‑day field activities, ensuring safety, schedule and quality requirements are met.
- Obtain and manage all required inspections and approvals.
- Maintain daily paperwork, including Procore daily reports, schedule updates, and correspondence.
- Submit and resolve RFIs, ensuring up‑to‑date contract documents are used.
- Conduct subcontractor start‑up meetings and coordination meetings.
- Monitor safety hazards, lead toolbox talks, record weekly safety inspection reports, and maintain job‑site signage.
- Work with the off‑site Project Manager on schedule alignment and change requests.
- Complete the punch list, as‑built drawings, and close‑out reports.
- A minimum of ten years of experience as a construction site superintendent on industrial projects.
- Recent experience on projects involving Cold Storage Distribution Centers, Food & Beverage Processing, Packaging, Life Science, Industrial Tilt Wall, ASRS Robotics, Data Centers, Clean Room constructions, and MEP‑driven projects.
- Proven record of completing industrial projects valued from $500K to $20M.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project), Procore, Bluebeam, and CAD.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- Willingness to travel extensively, including temporary lodging for extended periods, nights, weekends, and holidays.
