New Hampshire Public Radio is looking for a curious, creative curator of local news to join our team as an Audience Engagement Producer, with a focus on newsletters and the NHPR mobile app. You will be part of the Audience Team, working closely with NHPR’s newsroom and editorial partners to grow the reach and impact of our news, podcasts, and programming across platforms.
Your primary responsibility will be acting as the lead voice and producer of our flagship email newsletter,
The Rundown
, and the weekly New Hampshire News Quiz newsletter. You will also collaborate with the Senior Audience Editor and other NHPR content teams to experiment with special projects for our newsletters and news app, striving to make these products as essential and engaging as possible.
Duties Include:
- Serve as lead author and producer for NHPR’s daily newsletter (The Rundown) and the weekly New Hampshire News Quiz newsletter.
- Share NHPR news, podcasts, and programming content in a timely, accurate, and engaging manner on newsletters and the news app.
- Seek out new opportunities to use newsletters and the mobile app to reach new audiences and deepen engagement with existing audiences.
- Work with the Senior Audience Editor and colleagues to improve the user experience of newsletters, the news app, and other digital products, as well as the presentation of special projects, podcasts, and programming on social and digital platforms.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assist with sharing NHPR content on social media platforms (including Facebook, Threads, X, Bluesky, Linked In, Instagram, Tik Tok, and You Tube) as needed.
- Represent NHPR on camera and in person to promote awareness of our work when needed.
- Assist with updates about new programs, station news, events, membership messaging, and more to further grow and engage our audience.
- Participate in station fundraising activities as required.
- 3+ years of experience as a reporter, editor, or digital producer, preferably with newsletter experience.
- Exceptional writing skills with the ability to cultivate a trusted and conversational voice across a wide range of topics.
- Meticulous attention to detail, accuracy, and fact‑checking.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize information in clear, concise language.
- Fluency in best practices for newsletters, push notifications, and short‑form text formats.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Experience producing content for digital or social media platforms is a plus.
- Familiarity with New Hampshire or New England, public media, Mailchimp or another newsletter delivery system, newsletter analytics, Google Analytics, or audience analytics is a plus.
- Experience with product development and management is a plus.
