Brief Description
The Guild School Teacher Manager will lead a team of teachers in developing their instructional capacities, curriculum (including IEP-related tasks), classroom management, and supervising teaching assistants. In addition to delivering high-quality instruction in their own classrooms, the Teacher Manager's role is to build the capacity of teachers to provide effective instruction and supervise their teaching assistants. The Teacher Manager will support their team through 1-on-1 observation, coaching, and in-vivo modeling, and collaborate with associate directors to develop and implement the teacher mentor framework for new and waivered teachers.
They may also lead school-wide projects like student council or other initiatives.
Requirements
- Mentor and coach teachers through in vivo modeling, observation, and supervision.
- Support teachers in developing student goals and IEP paperwork based on data and in line with the Guild’s practices.
- Apply the teacher evaluation rubric and The Guild’s Integrated Framework in practice.
- Provide support and mentorship to new or struggling teachers.
- Monitor and support the implementation of priority teaching practices.
- Facilitate classroom meetings and participate in meetings to support teachers.
- Support school-wide initiatives and projects.
- Facilitate team meetings for students in their caseloads.
- Work with lead TAs to develop processes for TAs in the school.
