The Tot Spot is looking to hire a toddler teacher in our Early Childhood Education / Licensed Childcare program! The Tot Spot is Located conveniently in the South End of Concord near I93 & I89.

We are seeking a nurturing, patient, gentle, and experienced individual to work with young children, 12 months to approximately 3.5 years old. All of our teachers need to be able to communicate effectively and comfortably with other staff, children and families. Being a team player is essential, as we have a smaller center.

Our philosophy is honoring the whole-child by encouraging children's independence, supporting child-centered/child-lead interests by selecting their own works in the classroom, providing an educational circle time, mentoring kindness and empathy, meeting the social and developmental needs of children while respecting them for their abilities.

Flexible on education/experience! Candidates may have a minimum of:

  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree, Current CDA, or Montessori Certificate for a Lead teacher/Assistant Director/Director position
  • 18 ECE credits for Lead teacher;
  • 9 Early Childhood Education Credits for Associate level (or credits in progress and/or more than
    9);
  • OR meet new licensing guidelines for Associate Teacher life experience and/or work experience with children in this age group;
  • For an Assistant teacher, we will work with you on ways to become at least Associate qualified through college coursework or an alternative pathway.

All staff must pass a criminal record and fingerprint check and comply with child care licensing's professional development requirements, including CPR/first Aid and health and safety trainings.

Full-time, year-round position. This is a 40 hours per week job.

Health/Dental Insurance benefits are not available at this time, but tele-health and tele-mental health options can be discussed.

Childcare tuition assistance for employees can be discussed.

All positions have a mandatory 90-day probationary period.

  • potential Sign on bonus will be evaluated based on employment criteria and duration of time at center, bonus implemented after minimum of 90-days probationary period. Bonus to be paid: $250 for every 3 months worked to total $1000 over the first year.
  • We are a Montessori inspired program, but if you aren't familiar with that educational philosophy, don't worry, we will help mentor you. No Montessori Experience is required.
What You'll Do

Responsible for the direct care and early learning activities for toddlers aged 12 months up to approximately 3 years old.

Keeping the learning environment clean and organized.

Shared cleaning responsibilities of the overall center, eg. taking out trash, wiping tables and chairs after meals, vacuuming and cleaning floors.

Requirements

NH Child Care Licensing Rules requirements:

Criminal background and fingerprint checks

Complete Health and Safety Trainings

CPR and First Aid certification in the first 90-days of employment, unless already currently certified

Must be patient, kind, team-player, empathetic, punctual, task oriented, ability to multi-task, observant, positive mind-set/personality

Nice To Have

Experience working with Children for more than one year. Child care center based experience is a plus!

Prefer candidate with some education in early childhood education or elementary education, but it is not required for this position.

  • 5-6 weeks off paid annually to include set closures that are typically aligned with public school vacations in December, February, and April. Also most State/Federal holidays off.
  • Accrue 5 paid personal days annually
  • Will consider discussing and/or offering a telehealth plan such as Dr's by Phone, which should cover the employee and household family members for no co-pay, unlimited visits
  • $1000 hiring bonus for the first year ($250 every 90 days of successful employment)
