The State of New Hampshire, Department of Safety, Division of Fire Standards and Training & EMS, has a full-time vacancy for Curriculum Development Specialist (Program Specialist III), SOC Title 13-1150 TRNG AND DVLP SPECS-5. This position has a 37.5 hour work week and is considered non-exempt.

Develops and maintains comprehensive Firefighter and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) curriculum in compliance with education and training standards, state laws and rules, and accreditation requirements under the direction of the Curriculum Administrator.

Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

Education/

Experience:

Bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience OR equivalent combination of 5 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience must be in education, curriculum development, instructional design, psychology, or related field.

License/Certification:
Valid driver’s license or access to statewide transportation

Other Requirements:
Must pass a fingerprint based criminal background check and motor vehicle record check in order to ensure suitability for exposure to confidential information.

Trainee Option:
Candidates with an equivalent combination of 4+ years of relevant education and experience after completion of high school may be considered and hired in ‘trainee status’ for this position.

Master’s degree in education, curriculum development, instructional design, or a related field. Training or professional experience in Firefighting or Emergency Medical Services.

Experience in curriculum development, instructional design, or teaching, ideally in emergency services or career and technical education.

Experience delivering instruction at the secondary or post-secondary level.
