CIVIL ENGINEER I, II or III
Civil Engineer I / Pay Range = $22.50 - $30.02 per hour
Civil Engineer II / Pay Range = $25.40 - $34.14 per hour
Civil Engineer III / Pay Range = $28.74 - $38.85 per hour

SUMMARYCivil Engineer I – Perform basic engineering duties and support permitting functions and operations activities of the highway maintenance district. Promote good public relations and support Department goals.
Civil Engineer II – Perform engineering duties for a variety of projects, including permitting functions and operations activities in a highway maintenance district. Promote good public relations and support Department goals.
Civil Engineer III – Perform a variety of engineering duties associated with the development and administration of programs in a highway maintenance district. Perform difficult permitting functions and operations activities of the highway maintenance district. Promote good public relations and support Department goals.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS CIVIL ENGINEER IEducation: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institute of higher education with a major study in engineering.
Experience: No experience required.
OR
Education: Associate's degree from an accredited institute of higher education with a major study in engineering or civil technology.
Experience: Two (2) years of post‑graduate experience in engineering comparable to an Engineering Technician.
License/Certification: Valid driver's license and access to transportation for statewide travel.
Other Requirements: Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the minimum standards as established by the Department of Transportation.

Education: Master’s degree from an accredited institute of higher education with a major study in engineering.
Experience: No experience required.
OR
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institute of higher education with a major study in engineering.
Experience: Eighteen (18) months of post‑baccalaureate experience engineering.
OR
Education: Associate’s degree from an accredited institute of higher education with a major study engineering or civil technology.
Experience: Eighteen (18) months of experience in engineering at a level equivalent to Civil Engineer I (or higher), plus two (2) additional years’ experience in a position comparable to an Engineering Technician.
License/Certification: Valid driver's license and access to transportation for statewide travel.
