Job Description

McFarland Johnson has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Water Resources Engineer to join our firm in any of our New York or New England locations.

The successful candidate will support the growth of McFarland Johnson’s water resources practice, including hydrologic & hydraulic modeling, stream restoration, stormwater management, and/or water supply & sanitation.

Responsibilities:

  • Work efficiently with staff across McFarland Johnson’s business divisions executing tasks on a variety of challenging and interesting infrastructure improvement projects.
  • Assist with development of the firm’s water resources capabilities.
Qualifications
  • BS in Civil Engineering with PE registration required.
  • 10+ years of experience in water resources preferred, but exceptional candidates with 5+ years of experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong hydraulic modeling, stream restoration & fluvial geomorphology experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State regulatory requirements is preferred, such as FEMA and floodplain management requirements, Clean Water Act, and NPDES.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
