Education/
Experience:
Education:
Master’s degree from an accredited institute of higher education with a major study in civil engineering, or possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institute of higher education with a major study in civil engineering and possession of a Master of Business Administration degree from an accredited institute of higher education.
Experience:
One year of experience in civil engineering post Professional Engineer licensure.
OR
Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institute of higher education with a major study in civil engineering.
Experience:
Three years of experience in civil engineering post Professional Engineer licensure.
OR
Education:
Associate's degree from an accredited institute of higher education with a major study in an engineering or engineering technology field relevant to program area in which position is assigned.
Experience:
Five years of experience in civil engineering post Professional Engineer licensure.
License/Certification:
- Valid driver's license or access to transportation for statewide travel
- Professional Engineer (PE) Licensure with designation in Civil, Civil Highway, Geo Technical or Structural Engineering
Other Requirements:
Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the minimum standards established by the hiring agency.

Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices. Knowledge of inspection and testing techniques of materials used in construction projects. Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations related to the engineering option. Knowledge of survey principles. Knowledge of hydraulics, soils and materials. Knowledge of supervisory principles. Ability to plan the work and supervise a staff of professional, technical, clerical and other employees.
Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to work complicated mathematical problems. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, subordinates, public officials and other professionals. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the agency appointing authority.
