37.5 Hour Basic Work Week
Administers the State Approving Agency's statewide compliance and approval program for Veterans Education Services in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the National Association of State Approving Agencies, and other federal and state agencies as applicable.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
Minimum Qualifications- Education/
Experience:
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience;
Master's degree and 3 years of experience; or Doctoral degree and 1 year of experience. Education and experience must be in business, public management or public administration, communications, government, law, legal studies, economics, social services, planning, program management, compliance, or a related field. - License/Certification:
Valid driver's license and access to transportation.
- Must pass a State Police records check.
- Must be able to travel to education, professional, and vocation establishments, both in-state and out-of-state.
- Must be able to travel overnight(s) when required.
- Experience with U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs educational benefits and related regulations.
- Experience with the National Association of State Approving Agencies and facilities who leverage the VA education benefits such as institutes of higher learning like colleges and universities.
- Experience with on-the-job training and apprenticeship programs and facilities.
- Experience with interpreting U.S. Code and federal policy as it relates to compliance with VA education benefits implementation.
- Appointment consideration shall be given to qualified eligible veterans.
