Variable schedule. 4 on, 2 off.

Starting Annual Salary: Academy-Non-Certified Officers – $67,995.20 annually ($32.69/hr). Lateral-Certified Officers – $71,427.20 – $80,246.40 annually ($34.34 to $38.58/hr). Maximum Annual Salary – $.

Job Summary

Employees in this position are assigned a variety of duties within the City Police Department. Duties involve protecting life and property and securing the well‑being of the citizens of the City of Concord. The officer enforces ordinances, state and federal statutes, and other regulations. Officers routinely conduct patrol, investigations, drug enforcement, or youth services. The department practices a community‑based policing operation.

All officers are expected to be able to perform a wide range of duties. An incumbent may be designated "Master Police Officer".

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol the city and respond to calls for service.
  • Investigate incidents and collect evidence.
  • Enforce drug laws and conduct related operations.
  • Provide youth services and community outreach.
  • Execute all duties required by ordinance, state and federal law.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent and one or more of the following: knowledge acquired through a minimum of 60 credit hours in an associate or baccalaureate educational program.
  • Two years of full‑time experience as a certified police officer at the time of appointment.
  • Four years of active full‑time military service with an honorable discharge (National Guard service is not considered full‑time military service).
  • Other desirable qualifications: A bachelor's degree.
