Granite Edvance (formerly the New Hampshire Higher Education Assistance Foundation, or the NHHEAF Network) has been helping New Hampshire families plan and pay for higher education for over 60 years. We help New Hampshire students plan for their future – whether they are looking to continue their education, pursue the trades or enter the workforce – by providing guidance, scholarships, and private student loans.

What will the People & Talent Manager do?

As the People & Talent Manager at Granite Edvance, you will be responsible for managing and facilitating key aspects of the full employee lifecycle while helping foster a culture rooted in inclusion, collaboration, and mutual respect. You will also partner with employees across the organization, supporting talent development, organizational change, and employee-centric initiatives that advance Granite Edvance’s mission and values.

This role’s responsibilities may span the functional areas below, and the final mix will be determined based on the individual’s experience and organizational needs. We value the experience each person brings; depending on background and expertise, this role may be shaped to include broader responsibilities and opportunities to make an impact.

Talent Acquisition, Onboarding & Offboarding
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment, ensuring a thoughtful and positive candidate experience
  • Partner with hiring managers on interview best practices and selection decisions
  • Oversee offers, pre-hire processes, onboarding, and new hire orientation
  • Maintain recruiting systems, metrics, and external talent partnerships
  • Lead offboarding processes, exit interviews, and trend analysis to support retention
Talent Development & Performance Management
  • Support organization-wide performance management and employee development initiatives
  • Administer performance and training platforms and provide coaching to managers and staff
  • Help identify training needs, develop learning programs, and support individual development plans
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements
Payroll, Benefits & HRIS Administration
  • Process accurate, compliant payroll (including off-cycle payrolls)
  • Administer health & wellness, retirement and educational benefit programs, as well as leaves of absence, and HRIS transactions
  • Serve as the primary contact for payroll vendors, benefit brokers, and compliance partners
People & Talent Operations
  • Identify and leverage HR analytics to inform decision-making and improve processes
  • Manage P&TM platforms, vendors, and budgets
  • Support audit and other compliance activities as related to People & Talent Management functions
Are you the People & Talent Manager we’re looking for?

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (HR, Business Administration, or related field)
  • 3–5 years of experience in one or more HR disciplines with a preference for expertise in any combination of the following: payroll & benefits, talent acquisition & onboarding, and employee engagement and development.
  • HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, CEBS, CCP, etc.) a plus

  • Exceptional relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to interact with confidence and credibility across all levels within and outside the organization
  • Excellent judgment, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information
