Data Integration Engineer

Position Summary

The Data Integration Engineer installs and maintains automated backend data integrations to ingest customer healthcare data (e.g., EMRs, billing, data warehouses) into Caris environments. They create/manage/optimize ETL pipelines from internal systems to support internal analytic dashboards, and lead data discovery/validation to deliver accurate data on time.

• Lead technical requirements gathering and define integration approaches; translate between business and technical stakeholders.
• Assemble large clinical outcome datasets for ingestion.
• Contribute to architectural design and development of clinical informatics/BI infrastructure.
• Establish EMR access using direct DB access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
• Gather requirements with users in agile fashion to build dashboard outputs based on ETL.
• Adhere to documented departmental/corporate standards; assist with related duties/special projects as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree (related field).
• 3+ years ETL programming; 3+ years relational databases.
• HL7 experience.
• Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges certification.
• Independent problem-solving.
• ETL strategy experience across multiple EMR/data sources.
• Ability to assemble/query complex data; strong analysis.
• Relational DBs:
  Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL.
• Proficient Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook) and general business internet use.

• ETL/dashboard experience (3+ years), preferably healthcare.
• JavaScript; familiarity with Mirth Connect, CloverETL or other ETL tools.
