The Platform AWS or PAWS team is IDEXX's platform engineering organization responsible for developer productivity, cloud platform services, and workflow automation. They provide and operate the shared engineering platforms, automation frameworks, and governance capabilities that enable product and Dev Ops teams to build, deploy, and support applications securely and efficiently across AWS, Git Hub, Terraform Cloud, JFrog, and related tooling.
We are seeking a Senior Manager of our Platform AWS team to lead our cloud infrastructure, security, and platform engineering efforts. This role supports the strategy and execution behind our cloud environment operations, and infrastructure security, CI/CD pipelines, and maintaining a high-performing Dev Ops team. You will partner closely with product engineering, security, and IT leadership to advance our platform capabilities and ensure reliable, secure, and scalable operations.
In this role, you will…- Lead and develop a team of Dev Ops engineers, setting priorities, coaching for growth, and ensuring continuous technology operations.
- Own the roadmap for cloud automation, cloud infrastructure, platform tooling available to the organization.
- Drive infrastructure security practices, including access controls, vulnerability management, and compliance, in partnership with the security and business leaders.
- Advance the Dev Ops team’s maturity of AI in workflow that increases deployment speed, reliability, and developer productivity.
- Evaluate and introduce new tools and platform advancements that improve scalability, cost efficiency, and resilience.
- Manage incident response processes and drive root-cause analysis and continuous improvement plans.
- Partner with engineering and IT leadership to align infrastructure investments with business and product priorities.
- Own vendor and cloud cost management, ensuring efficient and secure use of cloud resources.

We are only looking for qualified individuals in Maine, New Hampshire or Massachusetts. Those that are driving distance to our corporate HQ in Westbrook, Maine we offer the flexible hybrid requirement of only 8 days per month on site. For those further than 1 hour away from Westbrook, Maine, we would be open to less than the 8 days on site per month. - 7 or more years of experience in Dev Ops, infrastructure, or platform engineering and at least 7+ years in a people management role.
- Strong hands‑on background with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), infrastructure as code (Terraform, Cloud Formation, or similar), and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Demonstrated experience embedding security practices into infrastructure lifecycle management and CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands‑on experience with observability platforms (e.g., Datadog, Cloud Watch) for monitoring, alerting, and performance management.
- Proven track record of scaling a Dev Ops or platform team, including technical hiring, org design, and maturing operational processes.
- Track record of leading teams through incident response and operational maturity improvements.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical strategy for non-technical stakeholders.
