- We manufacture Custom Construction Equipment
- Responsibilities include:
- Supervising and working hands-on on the shop floor.
- Designing, building, and modifying fixtures and jigs with minimal supervision to maximize production.
- Using MIG welding equipment to manufacture parts and assemblies, meeting production schedules.
- Ensuring jigs & fixtures produce parts within tolerance and per drawings or samples.
- Making jigs movable for multiple stations and working collaboratively with welders and engineers.
- Creating samples and laying out parts for approval based on drawings and instructions.
- Fitting, fabricating, and assembling metal components for structural forms.
- Operating equipment and performing tasks to meet specifications.
- Proposing quality and productivity improvements.
- Reporting fabrication issues and assisting in resolutions.
- Participating in production meetings and interpreting drawings.
- Training, coaching, and managing employees to meet HR objectives.
- Contributing to production planning and strategic improvements.
- Completing welding audits and implementing system improvements.
- Monitoring costs and ensuring production standards are met.
- Resolving problems to meet production requirements.
- Enhancing workflow and eliminating stoppages.
- Maintaining a safe work environment per standards and regulations.
- Qualifications and
Experience: - Progressed from welder to fitter, fabricator, and lead hand, with 10-15+ years in the industry.
- Experience in steel fabrication, mechanical assembly, and understanding weld symbols.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading, schematics, and using power tools and welding equipment.
- Ability to operate and adjust welding machines, gas gauges, and wire feeders.
- Skilled in using power tools, performing measurements, and operating cranes and rigging equipment safely.
- Holding CWB certification for GMAW, FCAW, and related assets.
