Position:
Associate Manufacturing Tech – Night Shift

Location:

Concord, NC (Company: Celgard, LLC)

Hours:

Night shift 5:50pm-6:00am (12‑hour shifts) on a 2‑2‑3 schedule.

Compensation: $18.50/hour plus a $1.20 shift premium for working night shift. Overtime available at 1½×. Sign‑on bonus: $1,000 payable in two installments (first after first week, second after six months).

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year of industry experience in a manufacturing, production, or similar environment.
  • Good attendance and safety records.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi‑task and set‑up / operate multiple machines.
  • Computer skills and ability to learn different software programs and scanners.

Job Responsibilities
  • Operate various industrial film manufacturing and processing equipment including extruders, laminators, ovens, deplyers, slitters, coaters, mixers, and core slabber.
  • Utilize powered industrial vehicles (PIVs).
  • Prepare chemical solutions and monitor chemical processes.
  • Use instruments to test the quality of chemical products to ensure they meet standards and specifications.
  • Troubleshoot production problems or malfunctioning instruments.
  • Practice excellent safety and environmentally sound habits.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment that meets facility standards.
  • Ensure general quality of all work meets company standards.
  • Maintain records and interface with multiple computer software programs for material transactions, traceability, process control, online inspection, testing, and statistical process control.
  • Perform routine optical inspection and product quality tests according to written specifications and standards.
  • Maintain accurate logbook entries of key process and equipment events, and provide in‑depth observations to process and development engineers as required.
  • Clean assigned production equipment and perform operator‑level preventive maintenance (e.g., change filters, check fluid levels).
  • Communicate effectively with team members and other groups within the Celgard organization.
  • Act as a communication link with other departments when assigned.
  • Maintain training and cross‑training proficiencies as required to ensure compliance in execution of daily activities and departmental expectations.
  • Train others (new and current employees) as needed.
  • Ensure breaks and lunches are taken per policy and time is not abused.
  • Support managing all data and working with Supply Chain and Operations to ensure production throughput is maximized.
  • Identify areas of potential process improvement and communicate accordingly.
  • Comply with current Good Manufacturing Practices regulations.
  • Maintain a professional and productive relationship with area management and co‑workers.
  • Participate in cross‑functional teams.
  • Lead meetings as needed.
  • Serve on team roles as assigned.
  • Keep all Celgard information confidential.

Working Environment

Manufacturing plant setting – requires working around chemicals, standing and walking up to 80% of time. Adequate lighting and temperature. Lifting up to 35 pounds or required to push, pull, or move objects. Certified under IATF 16949 and ISO 9001.
