We are actively hiring Machine Operators to join our team at our Concord, NC plant. Americhem is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of custom color concentrates. Our production operators specialize in setting up, operating, and tending extruding machines to process a variety of products that our customers use to manufacture a vast array of finished products.
Machine Operator Requirements/ Preferred Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
1-2 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing/production strongly preferred.
Machine Operator Knowledge and
Skills:
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot
- Tow motor/forklift experience
- Dependable, reliable, and self-motivated
Solid math and analytic skills - Holds safety in highest regard by making good safety decisions, following safety procedures, watching out for the safety of self and others, contributing to safety improvements and participating in safety programs
- Produce compound samples according to specifications by using production equipment, devices and instruments (extruders, scales, feeders, classifiers, pelletizers, dies, visual display units, dials, and calibrators)
- Keeps machinery and mechanical equipment operational by performing preventative maintenance tasks on machine and equipment
- The Operator adds color mix to the feeder by using a tow motor/forklift to lift the color pot up to the platform, and setting it in the proper slot.
