Exempt Community Membership Lead

Organization: Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains (GSGWM)**

Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Travel: Up to 50% (Preferred)

Schedule: Flexible, including evenings and weekends as needed

Position Overview

The Community Membership Lead is responsible for increasing membership within an assigned region by executing strategic recruitment initiatives, onboarding new youth members and adult volunteers, and supporting the long-term sustainability of Girl Scout troops. This individual will serve as a key ambassador of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, building strong partnerships with schools, corporations, faith-based institutions, and community organizations.

Major Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement data-driven recruitment strategies based on geographic trends and membership analytics.
  • Execute year-round membership growth and retention initiatives.
  • Generate girl and adult volunteer leads through outreach events, marketing efforts, and community presentations.
  • Facilitate recruitment events (virtual and in-person).
  • Build relationships with corporations, educators, schools, and community leaders.
  • Track and follow up on leads using internal systems and technology platforms.
  • Promote enthusiasm for Girl Scouting through effective storytelling and presentations.

Onboarding

  • Ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new youth members and volunteers.
  • Manage operational onboarding processes including training assignments, troop setup, investiture coordination, and new troop support.
  • Support and, when necessary, lead Girl Scout Starter Troops during initial launch.
  • Provide leadership in volunteer engagement, conflict resolution, and community outreach.
  • Guide Service Unit teams in selecting and training administrative volunteers.
  • Offer concierge-level support to troops by coordinating with appropriate internal departments.
  • Partner with the Program and Product Program Teams to ensure successful program delivery within the region.
  • Report progress and regional updates to the Director of Membership.

General Responsibilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong public speaking and facilitation abilities.
  • Goal-oriented with strong sales and marketing aptitude.
  • Relationship-building and active listening skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and self-managed.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and Microsoft Office Suite (or willingness to learn).
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
