Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for ambulatory surgical and pain management patients, from simple to complex, with multi‑system issues in a safe and therapeutic environment. The RN uses knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan, assesses data reflective of the patient’s status, and interprets information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to age‑specific needs.
The RN engages in caring relationships with patient families and significant others, works collaboratively with other health‑care workers, and uses sound judgment while performing nursing and medical interventions. The RN reports to the Director and/or Resource Nurse and may supervise Surgical Technologists and Patient Care Coordinators.
Associates Degree (A.D.) or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited School of Nursing.
Certification, Registration & Licensure- BCSL and ACLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
- Current New Hampshire State Registered Nurse license required.
- Previous operating room (OR) experience required.
- Deliver care to patients effectively and safely according to facility policy.
- Teach the patient and/or significant other(s) about the plan of care and prepare them to manage their care after discharge.
- Manage the care of simple to complex multi‑system patients using time and resources efficiently.
- Administer medications effectively, efficaciously, and safely.
- Gather data through history taking and physical assessment, interpret data, and plan and implement interventions to meet patient care needs.
- Develop, evaluate, and revise patient’s plan of care and nursing actions in response to patient needs.
- Base nursing actions on purposeful, organized thought and sound clinical judgment and decision‑making.
- Participate and engage in center activities.
- Document care provided and patient’s progress toward desired outcomes.
- Direct and supervise others (nursing students, orientees, surgical technologists) in delegated nursing activities.
- Lead the health‑care team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Surgery Center is open Monday through Friday. No nights, weekends, holidays, or call.
- 4 10‑hour shifts per week.
- Staggered start times.

Physical And Work RequirementsThe physical demands of this role include regular lifting, carrying, or pushing/pulling up to 20–50 pounds, frequent hearing and speaking, frequent bending and walking, occasional climbing, fine‑motor tasks, kneeling, reaching, sitting, squatting, and standing.
