Travel Stepdown RN – Fusion Medical Staffing
Location:
Keene, New Hampshire. Assignment: 13‑week travel assignment. One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN required.
- Provide care to patients transitioning from intensive care to medical‑surgical or general inpatient units.
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data; detect abnormalities and respond appropriately.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments, focusing on cardiac care.
- Prepare equipment and aid physician during cardiac‑related procedures and examinations.
- Maintain awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients.
- Observe patients, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify supervisor or physician of cardiac status and response to interventions.
- Respond to life‑saving situations based on nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols specific to cardiac emergencies.
- Document nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients.
- Initiate patient education plans according to individualized needs, focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN.
- Current valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
- Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification.
- Read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Physical ability to remain stationary, move about, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
- Technical/motor skill to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and assist with procedures and department equipment.
- Ability to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure.
- Work under close supervision occasionally and independently when appropriate.
- Visual acuity and effective communication skills.
