Position: Endocrinology Registered Nurse / LPN | Per Diem

Summary

Reporting to the Clinical Leader or Clinical Manager, the Clinical Practice Nurse 1 delivers high quality patient care including assessment, treatment, planning, and care evaluation. The role uses knowledge of growth and development over the life span, assesses clinical data, and engages in caring relationships with patients, families, and caregivers while working collaboratively with the health care team.

Qualifications
  • Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Nurse license issued by the New Hampshire Board of Nursing.
  • Current certification in American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers or Red Cross CPR/AED for Healthcare Providers (Professional Rescuers).
  • Demonstrated ability to interact positively with multidisciplinary staff and patients.
Responsibilities
  • Establishes priorities in organizing daily activities and maintains efficient patient flow.
  • Triages patient phone calls following established guidelines and prescribed format.
  • Administers prescribed medications.
  • Provides education to patients based on identified needs.
  • Documents health information, interventions, and outcomes in the patient electronic medical record.
  • Delegates patient care activities using the five rights (right task, right person, right direction, right circumstance, and right supervision) and provides feedback to delegatee and manager.
  • Applies principles of purposeful, organized thinking based on the nursing process to make sound clinical judgment and decisions.
  • Completes practice‑specific clinical skill competencies on an annual basis.

Physical Requirements

The employee must regularly lift, carry or push/pull less than 10 pounds, frequently lift, carry or push/pull up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift, carry or push/pull up to 20 pounds. The employee is regularly required to perform repetitive motion, hear, and speak; frequently required to bend, fine‑motor reach, sit, stand, and walk; occasionally required to climb, kneel, smell, and squat.

Specific vision abilities required include color vision, depth perception, far vision, near vision, and peripheral vision. The employee is frequently exposed to blood borne pathogens, bodily fluids, and occasionally exposed to airborne pathogens, electrical hazards, shock, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
