Carries out piping plover protection efforts including monitoring nesting birds and their habitat, collecting, maintaining and summarizing data into a final report, coordinating beach management and volunteer efforts, and maintaining equipment necessary to conduct protection efforts. Assists in monitoring upland sandpipers at Pease International Trade port. April – August.

• Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
• Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

Education/

Experience:

Equivalent combination of 2 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience must be in fisheries or wildlife conservation, commercial fishing, landscaping, carpentry, agriculture, outdoor recreation, or park management, including some experience in operating or maintaining equipment.

License/Certification:
Valid Drivers License

Other Requirements:
Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the minimum standards established by the agency

• Monitors piping plovers during the breeding season.
• Sets up, maintains, and disassembles project fencing.
• Collects and maintains data and writes required reports.
• Coordinates beach management activities among town, state and federal officials under the supervision of Nongame Program staff.
• Conducts public education and outreach to beach goers and others as requested.
• Maintains tools and facilities associated with the projects.
• Assists with monitoring upland sandpipers during the breeding season.
• Assists with other projects as assigned.
