Data Scientist, AI Business & Operations
Supports ongoing research and development activities in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). Works closely with scientists and research staff, contributing to data‑driven projects while gaining hands‑on experience in applied AI/ML methodologies.
Responsibilities- Assist in the development and implementation of AI and machine learning models.
- Perform tasks related to data collection, preprocessing, and data management.
- Support the training, validation, and evaluation of machine learning algorithms.
- Contribute to the design and testing of analytical workflows and computational pipelines.
- Assist research staff with literature reviews and scientific manuscript preparation.
- Document experimental procedures, results, and progress reports.
- Participate in team meetings and present updates on assigned work.
- Programming skills, preferably in Python.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Pandas and Num Py is an asset.
- Interest in artificial intelligence, machine learning, or data‑driven research.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a program in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Completed at least one project in AI and machine learning.
- Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) certification within 30 days of transfer or hire.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks such as Tensor Flow, PyTorch, or Scikit‑learn.
- Exposure to data visualization or statistical analysis.
- Prior research or project experience in AI/ML.
