Position: RETAIL SALESPERSONS-1 (Job ID: 48818)

Retail Salesperson I (Job ) – New Hampshire Liquor Commission

Part‑time, up to 28 hours per week, located in multiple New Hampshire outlets.

Pay & Hours

Hourly rate: $15.93. Overtime on Sundays: $23.89.

Summary

Provide exceptional customer service in a retail outlet environment by greeting and assisting customers, processing customer purchases, and maintaining alcohol product merchandising in accordance with New Hampshire Liquor Commission rules, policies, and procedures. Learn about store products and inventory to sell and promote them.

Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service and strive for excellence when welcoming and assisting customers, building relations, and protecting the NH Liquor Commission’s and the State of New Hampshire’s reputation.
  • Assist customers by answering questions, helping them locate alcohol products, providing alcohol product advice, recommending products, and selling alcohol products, lottery sweepstakes, and lottery tickets.
  • Accept payments and make change for customers while operating a cash register, scanner, credit card/debit card terminal, and lottery ticket dispensing machine, and properly wrap or bag merchandise for customers following Cash Control and Security policies, processes, and procedures. Verify the validity of currency and credit card holders as established by NHLC policies and procedures.
  • Learns and adheres to current laws and Commission policies regulating the sale of alcohol, including the prohibited sales policies; attend yearly Liquor Outlet Training Seminar (LOTS) to achieve and maintain knowledge of current policies, procedures, processes, and laws.
  • Unload delivery trucks, arrange and stock alcohol products, and set merchandising displays on the sales floors. Follow store and safety procedures to maintain a safe, clean, and orderly workplace environment.
  • Apply appropriate training and protocols to guard against fraudulent or counterfeit payments, observe customer behavior, and verify purchaser age relative to current laws regulating the sale of alcohol.
  • Reconcile records of sales or other financial transactions. Assist in the counting of physical inventory.
