In this exciting role, you'll guide customers in selecting stylish glasses that perfectly match their vision needs, personality, and lifestyle. All while learning the ins and outs of the optical world from experienced team members.
No prior optical experience? No problem! We provide comprehensive on-the-job training, so retail, customer service, or sales experience is all you need to get started. Many of our top performers began with zero optical knowledge and grew into experts.
Key Responsibilities- Greet customers warmly and provide personalized, friendly service in a fast-paced retail environment
- Help customers choose the perfect frames, lenses, and lens options (such as anti-glare, blue-light protection, or progressive lenses) based on their prescription, face shape, style preferences, and daily activities
- Educate customers on eyewear features, lens materials, coatings, and care instructions to help them make confident decisions
- Perform measurements (like pupillary distance and frame fitting) and adjust glasses for comfort and proper fit
- Handle frame adjustments, minor repairs, and cleaning to ensure every pair leaves looking and feeling great
- Process sales transactions, verify insurance benefits, explain coverage, and handle payments accurately
- Maintain an organized, visually appealing sales floor and inventory of frames and products
- Collaborate with optometrists and team members to deliver seamless customer experiences
- Meet sales goals while prioritizing customer satisfaction and building long-term relationships
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous retail, sales, or customer service experience preferred (fashion, jewelry, cosmetics, or hospitality backgrounds are a great fit!)
- Enthusiastic, outgoing personality with strong communication and listening skills
- Ability to multitask in a busy environment while staying positive and detail-oriented
- Basic computer skills for point-of-sale systems and record-keeping
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing light physical tasks (e.g., frame adjustments)
- Passion for fashion, eyewear trends, and helping people see clearly and confidently
- Full training program – become a certified optician over time if desired
