Position: Security Officer | Full Time | Day Shift

Summary

Security Officers will be responsible for activities necessary to ensure the stability and safety of patients, staff members and visitors, in accordance with regulations and policies of the Security Department.

Pay: $21.48–$26.00, commensurate with experience. Shift differential for night shift: $5.00.

Education

High school or equivalent (GED). Associate's degree preferred.

Certification, Registration & Licensure

Licensure required:
Valid New Hampshire Driver's license.

Certification required within 30 days of hire:

  • Management of Aggressive Behavior
  • Certification in the use of Forensic Restraints (handcuffs)
  • Conductive Energy Weapon (C.E.W.)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
Experience

Experience as a Healthcare Security Officer, Corrections Officer, Police Officer, Military or Behavioral Health preferred. If no security‑related experience, an associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field may be considered in lieu of experience.

  • Skills in crisis management and de‑escalation.
  • Skills in conflict resolution and/or demonstrated ability to be effective in high‑stress or emergent situations.
  • Prior experience providing quality customer service.
  • Ability to interact with people from diverse social, economic and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Prior experience analyzing situations and taking quick, effective and reasonable courses of action.
  • Ability to write reports.
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directives.
  • Computer competency.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in the management of aggressive/combative patients.
  • Monitor high‑risk patients awaiting disposition in the ED with proper documentation.
  • Assist in the proper application of restraints and use of Management of Aggressive Behavior techniques, documenting events.
  • Provide documentation of security department incidents and activities.
  • Conduct Security/Safety rounds of the facility during shift.
  • Act as liaison between Medical Examiner office, funeral directors and families regarding protocol for Care of the Expired Patient.
  • Perform duties using all equipment associated with the Security Operations Center.
  • Attend department meetings and complete department training.
  • Provide security for CHMG practices and other Concord Hospital satellite offices.
  • Make rounds through satellite locations; coordinate training such as MOAB, Armed Intruder, and other programs.
  • Provide security presence for difficult or potentially disruptive patients or visitors.
  • Act as liaison between practice/office and local law enforcement; address security‑related concerns of employees/staff.
  • Assist department leadership in developing security policies.
  • Handle investigations involving Security; notify Security Administration of emerging issues.
  • Manage all off‑site calls for service through the dispatch database; perform other security‑related duties as assigned.
Physical and Work Requirements

Regularly lift, carry or push/pull up to 10 pounds; frequently up to 10–25 pounds; occasionally up to 20–50 pounds. Required to bend, climb, kneel, speak, squat, walk, do fine motor, repetitive motion, drive, hear, reach, sit; occasionally smell, stand, taste. Vision: color, depth, far, near, peripheral. Exposure to airborne pathogens, blood borne pathogens, bodily fluids; occasional airborne contaminants and variable weather conditions.

Noise level usually moderate.
