Overview

The Merrimack County Department of Corrections (MCDC) provides security, supervision, and assistance to persons remanded to our custody. We commit to meeting or exceeding the standards set by the American Correctional Association, the National Commission of Correctional Healthcare, the New Hampshire Association of Counties, and the Merrimack County Board of Commissioners.

• Deliver substance use disorder treatment to inmates.
• Facilitate psycho‑educational groups to support individuals working toward long‑term recovery while under MCDC supervision.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with major coursework in criminal justice, social services, counseling, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to obtain Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensure in the State of New Hampshire.
• Valid New Hampshire driver’s license, or a valid driver’s license from another state if residing outside New Hampshire.
