Required Skills

Champion machine learning techniques to build and optimize intelligent systems that enhance Meta's products and user experiences.

Communicate complex features and systems effectively, advocating for improved product quality and engineering efficiency.

Assist in setting impactful project goals.

Develop innovative architectures, define use cases, and create methodologies and benchmarks for evaluating different approaches.

Utilize in-depth knowledge of machine learning systems and their interactions with surrounding systems.

Stay informed on industry and Meta-wide technology trends to help evaluate and develop new technologies within the ML Systems roadmap.

Lead the team's technical direction towards efficiency-enhancing opportunities for the larger organization.

Collaborate with organizational leaders to elevate team and organizational performance.

Minimum Qualifications

Extensive experience in cross-functional communication and collaboration to drive solutions.

A proven ability to lead large-scale engineering efforts across the organization and the industry.

A successful track record in planning multi-year roadmaps where short-term projects align with long-term visions.

Experience in spearheading projects with an industry-wide impact.

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Significant experience mentoring and influencing engineers across organizations.

Specialized experience in areas such as AI infrastructure, machine learning frameworks, high-performance computing, or related domains.

Proficiency in developing AI algorithms or infrastructure using C/C++ or Python.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with distributed systems or on-device algorithm development.

The ability to integrate AI tools to optimize workflows and drive measurable impacts such as efficiency gains and quality improvements.

A commitment to implementing responsible and ethical AI practices, including risk assessment and bias mitigation.

A demonstrated commitment to ongoing AI skill development and staying current with emerging technologies.

Public Compensation

$219,000/year to $301,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
