About the Role
We are seeking a Warehouse Technician to work at Celgard, LLC in Concord, NC. The role involves shipping and receiving in a manufacturing environment and maintaining the safe, secure operation of the warehouse, including accurate inventory storage and movement of raw materials and finished products.
Key Accountabilities- Receives and logs inbound materials into the warehouse using packing slips and purchase orders.
- Processes, picks, packs, stages, and ships all outbound materials and customer orders.
- Ensures inventory accuracy and participates in cycle counts.
- Loads and unloads trucks using powered industrial vehicles (forklifts, powered pallet jack, manual pallet jack); must pass forklift testing and operate a forklift safely.
- Passes DOT physical and operates a commercial motor vehicle (26’ straight truck).
- Uses banding and stretch‑wrapping equipment to secure loads.
- Accurately locates and dispenses materials for manufacturing processes or finished goods shipments.
- Inputs transactions into the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system.
- Inspects incoming and outgoing shipments for compliance with quality standards.
- Prepares and completes bills of lading and shipping lists.
- Coordinates pick‑ups of recyclables.
- Assists in administration and purchasing of materials.
- Adheres to operator instructions and maintains general work quality.
- Collaborates with team members and cross‑functional teams; participates in meetings and leads when appropriate.
- Cross‑trains in all aspects of inventory management.
- Communicates via telephone and e‑mail professionally.
- Maintains accurate and legible records daily.
- Participates in employee involvement activities and ISO 9000 initiatives.
- Practices excellent safety and environmentally sound habits; plans safety into all activities.
- Maintains a clean, organized work environment and participates in 6S activities.
- Support production to maximize throughput and ensures correct ERP updates.
- Identifies potential process improvements and communicates them.
- Maintains professional relationships with area management and co‑workers.
- Palletizes finished goods from pack‑out, verifies inventory accuracy within AX, and scans goods to rack locations.
- Protects Celgard confidential information.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
- Valid and active U.S. Driver’s License (required).
- Previous warehouse experience and straight‑truck operation (preferred).
- Proven ability to operate PIVs safely and efficiently.
- General knowledge of shipping & receiving principles and guidelines.
- Experience in a fast‑paced, detail‑oriented environment.
- Team‑centered organizational experience.
- Lean manufacturing and tools such as barcode scanners.
- Strong knowledge of storage systems and inventory tracking.
- Willingness to work in a warehouse environment with fluctuating indoor temperatures.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or in a team.
- Proficient with bar‑coding equipment.
- Attention to detail and quick information retrieval.
- Good observation and communication skills.
- Ability to act as a communication link with other departments.
- Rapid learning and application of new knowledge.
- Strong organizational skills; maintains accurate records.
- Flexibility and adaptability to change and challenge.
- Conflict resolution skills and commitment to productive outcomes.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.
Must be able and willing to travel up to 10%.
Working EnvironmentPosition is night shift, 12‑hour, 2‑2‑3 rotation. Requires standing and walking for up to 80% of the time, with light weights up to 25 pounds. Environment may include work at various times of day with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards.
