Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Concord, North Carolina. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth processing of invoices and payments while maintaining accuracy and compliance with company standards. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and bring a proactive approach to managing accounts payable functions.

Responsibilities:

- Process invoices efficiently and accurately within the company's accounting system.

- Verify invoices for completeness, ensuring all required documentation and approvals are in place prior to payment.

- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies related to payments or vendor accounts.

- Respond promptly to vendor inquiries and provide exceptional customer service.

- Print accounts payable checks, verify appropriate signatures, and manage distribution as needed.

- Assist in financial closing activities, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end processes.

- Conduct account analysis and provide insights to support financial decision-making.

- Manage daily mail operations to identify and process new vendor information. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role.

- Strong knowledge of invoice processing, account coding, and payment methods such as ACH.

- Familiarity with accounting software, preferably Epicor, and automated payment systems.

- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions.

- Strong analytical skills and the ability to resolve discrepancies effectively.

- Solid understanding of purchase orders and approved invoice procedures.

- Effective communication skills to handle vendor relations and team collaboration.
