01261 PERSONNEL ASSISTANT I
SUMMARYThis position performs a variety of general personnel clerical tasks in such areas as employee records, benefits, education, training, employment/staffing, compensation, employee labor relations, and equal employment opportunity/affirmative action. The Person nel Assistant may conduct surveys and update manual and automated personnel records.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- No supervisory responsibilities.
- Exercise discretion at all times and use limited judgment when necessary.
- Operate general office equipment such as typewriter, personal computer, copier, adding machine, and facsimile.
- Perform clerical and secretarial duties related to human resource tasks, including compensation, benefits, staffing/employment, EEO procedures, and policy administration.
- Update and maintain personnel records manually and electronically.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and clearable to obtain a Federal clearance.
- Must possess a valid U.S. state driver's license.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent; preferred minimum 2 years of administrative military personnel experience.
- Initiated National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) and favorable FBI fingerprint check or eDoD-determined equivalent investigation.
- Operational knowledge and/or experience processing requests, issuing building and system access badges, DoD CAC Card issuance policies and procedures, and certificates of completion for DEERS/RAPIDS training.
- English language proficiency: speak, read, write, and understand English; ability to read and explain instructions, letters, memos, emails, and correspondence; effective communication and presentation to clients and colleagues.
- Reasoning ability: organize work, set priorities, solve problems, analyze situations, and formulate action plans.

WORK ENVIRONMENTDuties are primarily performed in an office environment; occasional travel to off-site projects may involve work outdoors, in warehouses, supply points, motor pools and maintenance facilities for short periods.
