Position Summary
The assistant Mail Coordinator will support the Mail Coordinator and manage daily operations of Wingate University's campus mailroom, ensuring timely and accurate handling of mail and packages for students, faculty, and staff.
Duties / Responsibilities- Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages.
- Assign mail to lockers or shelves in the Paw Post system.
- Maintain organized work areas and assist with ordering or replenishing mailroom supplies as directed.
- Prepare and process outgoing mail and shipments in accordance with carrier guidelines.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to students, staff, and faculty.
- Operate all mailroom equipment and coordinate maintenance with Pitney Bowes.
- Meet mail truck driving requirements and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Work additional hours during peak campus times and during the Christmas holiday as necessary.
- Assist in pick‑up, sorting, and delivery of mail to the Cashiers and Advancement offices on Christmas‑Day.
- High school diploma.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling mail and package information.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills in a campus environment.
- Ability to lift and move packages up to approximately 40 lbs and stand or walk for portions of the workday.
- Proficiency with office computer technology, including basic Excel skills.
- Willingness to learn the Pitney Bowes platform.
