We are looking for a Senior Seeds & Traits Portfolio Lead, Soy, to join our Agricultural Solutions team in RTP, NC.
The Senior Seeds & Traits Portfolio Lead, Soy is the global strategic leader accountable for shaping and integrating the Seeds & Traits portfolio strategy across the Soy Crop System and across both Drive and Non-Drive Countries. The role leads complex, high-impact trait launches, new crop and country introductions, portfolio positioning, licensing, breeding and multiplication alignment, demand planning, and integrated solution development across Seeds & Traits, Crop Protection, and Digital Farming.
Working with broad autonomy, the role challenges established approaches, influences major business and portfolio decisions, and leads global planning teams to secure senior cross-functional and regional alignment.

As a Senior Seeds & Traits Portfolio Lead, Soy, you create chemistry by...- Shaping and owning the long-term global Seeds & Traits portfolio strategy for the Soy Crop System across Drive and Non-Drive Countries, identifying strategic opportunities and translating priorities into portfolio choices and investment recommendations.
- Leading complex global trait launches and new crop or country introductions, establishing governance, cross-functional plans, and milestones covering branding, positioning, licensing, regulatory inputs, and demand forecasts.
- Creating integrated Soy solutions across Seeds & Traits, Crop Protection, and Digital Farming, defining the role of new technologies within the complete BASF crop offer.
- Influencing major portfolio, commercialization, and resource decisions by integrating market potential, trait and germplasm performance, regulatory feasibility, and financial implications into senior recommendations.
- Leading strategic seed and trait licensing opportunities globally, identifying in-licensing and out-licensing opportunities and shaping negotiation positions and commercial models.
- Serving as the recognized global Seeds & Traits authority for the Soy Crop System, representing the portfolio in senior governance and strategy forums.
- Acting as a role model, coach, and capability builder across the organization, mentoring launch and portfolio colleagues and sharing best practices across Drive and Non-Drive Countries.
- Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Plant Breeding, Seed Science, Biology, Business, Marketing, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
- Bring 15+ years of experience in Seeds & Traits, crop systems, portfolio management, trait commercialization, strategic marketing, or related agricultural businesses.
- Have a proven track record leading global or multi-regional seed, trait, licensing, or commercialization initiatives.
- Influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across functions, business units, and geographies.
