Wright Brothers Construction Company, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager for on-site heavy civil construction projects in Asheville, NC and surrounding areas. This role provides leadership and oversight for highway and heavy civil projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with all plans and specifications. The Project Manager fosters a strong safety culture and upholds all environmental and health standards.

- Monitor site activities for compliance with company and customer safety procedures.
- Conduct site-specific safety training and enforce safety/security protocols.
- Ensure all project work meets environmental, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Provide senior-level leadership and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- Communicate project status, risks, timelines, milestones, and key metrics to team members and clients.
- Ensure timely communication of critical information to project executives and stakeholders.
- Lead project meetings and support a collaborative team environment.
- Perform regular site visits to assess project performance.
- Manage project scope, schedule, and budget, including controlling scope creep and overseeing subcontractor activities.
- Track daily project progress (labor, equipment, quantities) and ensure quality standards are met.
- Coordinate creation, review, and sign-off of project deliverables.
- Establish and maintain detailed project schedules and documentation.
- Prepare and interpret contract briefs, budgets, and cost projections.
- Understand revenue models, P&L, billing procedures, and cost-to-completion.
- Forecast revenue, profitability, and utilization metrics.
- Ensure accurate invoicing, monitor receivables, and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Track authorizations, hours, and expenses; manage change orders and financial impacts.
- Ensure project legal documents are completed and maintained.
- Identify, track, and mitigate project risks.
- Implement contingency plans when project constraints (scope, budget, timeline) are at risk.
- Ensure deliverables meet client expectations and quality standards.
- 5–7 years of experience in highway and heavy civil construction preferred.
- Ability to read, write, hear, and understand written and verbal instructions.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with HCSS Heavy Job, CAD, and Viewpoint software is a plus.
- Ability to accurately complete documentation and use basic computer applications.
- Ability to work long shifts with non-standard break times.
- Ability to work at heights up to 100 ft and in enclosed or confined spaces.
- Ability to walk moderate distances (½ mile or more) to reach work areas.
- Must wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, safety-toed boots).
- Ability to occasionally lift and move items over 50 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
- Willingness to perform additional job-specific duties as assigned.
