To deliver highly effective medical care to our practice population, in accordance with the GP contract and local and national guidance.
To process administration in a timely manner and work collaboratively within the practice team and wider MDT to ensure excellent, joined up patient care.
To provide support to the GP Partner and wider clinical team.
About usOur current team comprises of GP's, ANP's, Practice Nurse, Pharmacist sand HCA's,supported by friendly and experienced administrative and managementteams. We hold frequent practice, clinical, peer support sessions and encourageregular CPD sessions.
We are proud to have been accredited as a training practice.
We have a patient list size of over 8,200 patients working from modern, purpose-builtpremises, based in County Durham. We are active members of Durham Coast Primary Care Network.
The applicant should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to provide high quality, patient-centred care. You willwork alongside the team delivering and developing care relevant to the needsof our patient population in conjunction with organisational, local and national priorities.

Job responsibilitiesThe following are the core responsibilities of thesalaried GP. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
The provision of services commensurate with the GMScontract
Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
Effective management of long-term conditions
Processing of administration in a timely manner,including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks
On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage andduty doctor roles
Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction withgood practice, policy and guidance
Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (orareas) or the QOF
Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
Contribute effective to the development and maintenance of the practice including; clinical governance, training
Commit to self-learning and instill an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team
Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims ofthe practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure
Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies atall times
Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvement at all times
In addition to the primary responsibilities, the salaried GP may be requested to:
Participate in practice audits as requested by the audit lead
Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care
Participate in the review of significant andnear-miss events applying a structured approach i.e. root cause analysis (RCA)
Person Specification Qualifications- Qualified GP
- MRCGP
- Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP
- General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT)
- Experience of working in a primary care environment
- Experience of continued professional development
- Experience of QOF and clinical audit
- Minimum of two years as a salaried GP
- General understanding of the GMS contract
- Experience of medicines management
- Experience of ICB initiatives
- Polite and confident
- Flexible and cooperative - there may be requirement to work outside of core office hours
- Motivated, forward thinker
- Problem solver with the ability to process information accurately and effectively, interpreting data as required
- High levels of integrity and loyalty
- Sensitive and empathetic in distressing situations

- Full GMC Registration
- National Performers List registration
- Appropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU)
- Eligibility to practice in the UK independently
- Outstanding level of clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with that of an experienced GP
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
