The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill invites applications for two full-time (9 mos.) fixed term Teaching Assistant Professors in the areas of Psychology and Neuroscience, to begin July 2026, with three-year contracts that are renewable.

We encourage applicants who can contribute to the highly interdisciplinary NSCI major at UNC, which integrates perspectives from biology, psychology, chemistry, and other fields to provide students with a broad and rigorous foundation in neuroscience.

For the other position, we are interested in individuals who are versatile in which areas they teach within our PSYC curriculum (please see our PSYC BA & BS requirements). These positions would build upon the existing strengths in teaching and research of our faculty.

The University of North Carolina’s Department of Psychology and Neuroscience currently boasts 15 fixed‑term teaching faculty, spanning a variety of backgrounds (e.g. neuroscience and behavioral integrative neuroscience, clinical, cognitive, developmental, quantitative and social psychology) and teaching a variety of undergraduate psychology and neuroscience courses (please see PSYC courses and NSCI courses). There are exciting collaboration and innovation opportunities both at the university and department levels.

Additionally, these positions offer excellent advancement opportunities, including promotion to Teaching Associate Professor and Teaching (Full) Professor.
