Overview
Under limited supervision instructs cosmetology students in beginners class, theory class, senior class, or special classes as assigned, supervising students closely in the classroom and clinic settings. Demonstrates good customer relations and consultation to students. Maintains all requisite certifications required of the position. Keeps abreast of newest cosmetology trends and practices. Protect and promote the school image as an educational institution, promote instructor-student relations, promote student clinic patron relations, and promote instructor-clinic patron relations.

- Supervises cosmetology students in classroom and clinic settings, ensuring close supervision and adherence to program requirements.
- Demonstrates good customer relations and consultation to students.
- Maintains all requisite certifications required of the position and stays current with cosmetology trends and practices.
- Protects and promotes the school image; fosters instructor–student, student clinic patron, and instructor–clinic patron relations.
- Receives, reviews, processes, files and/or submits documents and reports (attendance reports, grade sheets, evaluation forms, teaching schedules, professional development forms, etc.).
- Operates, utilizes, and maintains office and other equipment including computers, copiers, audio-visual equipment, and general supplies.
- Supervises testing, grades tests, and records scores. Suggests revisions in educational programs. Reports needs for operating supplies and instructional materials to the School Manager.
- Group counselor for assigned group; acts as first-line individual counselor, referring difficult problems to the School Manager; encourages required project activities to students.
- Answers phones and refers calls to appropriate destinations as necessary; responds to calls in the School Manager's absence with information and inquiries as appropriate.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Must hold valid NC Cosmetic Board Cosmetologist license with at least three years of cosmetology experience.
- Classroom experience would be a plus.
