Job Title: Exceptional Children’s Pre‑K Teacher
Salary: Based on North Carolina Teaching Salary Schedule
Reports to: Principal
Position Type: Full‑Time
Essential Functions- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that employ effective teaching strategies.
- Maintain classroom management, recognizing and addressing learning and behavior issues.
- Understand developmental appropriateness of materials and differentiate instruction to meet all learners’ needs.
- Evaluate student accomplishments regularly using multiple assessment methods; provide progress and interim reports.
- Communicate with parents in a timely manner; maintain positive, constructive communication with students, staff, parents and community.
- Protect students, equipment, materials and facilities by taking necessary precautions.
- Uphold board policy, district goals, administrative procedures and school rules and regulations; adhere to health and safety policies.
- Maintain appropriate work habits, including regular and punctual attendance and appropriate use of conference and planning time.
- Keep current in subject‑matter knowledge and learning theory; attend workshops, seminars and conferences and participate in staff, department and curriculum meetings as required.
- Respect confidentiality of records and information regarding students, parents and teachers in accordance with professional ethics and state and federal laws.
- Share responsibility during the school day for supervising students in designated areas of the school.
Ability to perform non‑instructional duties as assigned.
