Encore Teacher (Movement/Learning Lab)General Definition of Work:
Performs a broad range of teaching services or a specific learning program, assisting students in developing the skills, attitudes and knowledge required for future learning. Instruction is tailored to each student’s ability, using varied teaching and learning methods at appropriate levels to reach a targeted audience. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Principal.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that provide effective teaching strategies.
- Maintain effective classroom management, recognizing and addressing learning and behavior issues.
- Use developmentally appropriate materials and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
- Evaluate student accomplishments regularly using multiple assessment methods; provide progress and interim reports for feedback.
- Communicate promptly with parents and maintain constructive communication with students, staff, parents, and the community.
- Protect students, equipment, materials and facilities, taking necessary precautions.
- Uphold and enforce board policy, district goals, administrative procedures, and school rules and regulations; adhere to health and safety policies.
- Maintain appropriate work habits, including regular and punctual attendance and appropriate use of conference and planning time.
- Keep current in subject‑matter knowledge and learning theory; attend workshops, seminars, and conferences as required.
- Respect the confidentiality of records and information regarding students, parents, and teachers in accordance with professional ethics and state and federal laws.
- Share responsibility during the school day for supervising students in designated areas.
- Perform non‑instructional duties as assigned.
