We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and creative instructor to teach a transportation-navigation class for students with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). The instructor will help students build independence by teaching them how to safely and confidently use public transportation, understand schedules and routes, recognize safety cues, and practice real-world travel skills.
Responsibilities include planning, providing hands-on instruction in both classroom and community settings, supporting individualized learning needs, ensuring student safety, and collaborating with program staff and families.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals with IDD or similar populations
- Strong communication skills and a supportive teaching approach
- Familiarity with local transportation systems
- Ability to lead community-based instruction and model safe travel practices
