Engineering | Civil Environmental and Geodetic Engineering

Position Overview

The Department of Civil, Environmental and Geodetic Engineering is accepting applications for part-time Lecturer appointment to teach undergraduate civil and environmental engineering course CIVILEN 3510 in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geodetic Engineering for the Fall semester.

Duties include but are not limited to holding office hours; grading assignments and submitting grades; may participate in curriculum development and course coordination.

Each of these courses are taught in person on the University’s main campus in Columbus, Ohio.

Education and Experience Requirements

Required

  • Master’s degree or equivalent
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to or demonstrated efforts in teaching that reflect Ohio State’s Shared Values.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience teaching in a learning setting including, but not limited to, K-12 classroom experience or higher education teaching as an instructor of record or graduate teaching assistant.

The CEGE department at Ohio State is a cohesive unit of recognized leaders in professional and academic circles who are dedicated to educating tomorrow’s leaders. The faculty includes 28 tenure-track members, 2 research professors, 4 professors of practice and 7 associated faculty members. Along with graduate and undergraduate students, the CEGE faculty, pursue research on cross-cutting themes that transcend infrastructure, transportation, environment and geodetic applications to address the changing nature and coming challenges of civil and environmental engineering practice.
