Gym Design Intern
GM Performance Power Units in Concord, NC is seeking a Gym Design Intern to support the planning, design, and installation of an employee gym and wellness space in a new state of the art Formula 1 facility. This internship provides hands-on experience in facility design, space planning, equipment selection, and project coordination. The intern will work closely with facilities team to help create a safe, functional, and engaging gym environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities:
- Own the design process of the employee gym including creating floor plans and sketches
- Research current fitness equipment and industry trends
- Support equipment placement planning to maximize safety, accessibility, and user experience
- Prepare presentations, design proposals, and project documentation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and incorporate feedback into design plans.
- Assist with budgeting, vendor coordination, and equipment requests for procurement.
- Ensure designs comply with safety standards, accessibility requirements, and organizational guidelines.
- Help track project timelines, deliverables, and implementation progress.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Current college/university students seeking undergraduate or graduate degrees in health and exercise science, physical therapy, or similar fields
- Interest in personal training
- Familiarity with basic documentation practices
- Basic knowledge of design and space planning
- Understanding of current fitness trends and best practices
