The Engineering Process Technician supports production and process engineering by improving process control, designing and installing equipment, reducing cost and scrap, and helping introduce new products through methodical problem‑solving.
In this role you will:
- Support the start and ramp of new processes and ensure products meet high quality standards with minimal scrap.
- Work hands‑on with product introductions and develop optimal working methods in collaboration with engineering, product development, quality, and PLM.
- Document actions in technical reports or emails and maintain strong relationships with manufacturing staff, production supervision, quality assurance, and engineering.
- Collect and analyze data to identify critical quality parameters and develop procedures or solutions to mitigate future problems.
- Communicate problem areas, special projects, and follow‑up items to relevant engineering teams.
- Assist new equipment startups, process changes, new product development, and machine troubleshooting.
- Evaluate process equipment specifications and conduct trials of new products and raw materials.
- Follow EHS Policy and procedures to identify and control risks and environmental impacts.
- High school diploma.
- Five or more years of relevant experience.
- Strong mechanical or electrical aptitude.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Basic computer and math skills; proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Two or more years of cable extrusion or UV curing process experience.
- An associate’s degree and experience in cable manufacturing with strong project management skills.
- Experience developing and writing documentation for processes (e.g., SOPs, training manuals, quality assurance methods).
- Experience training team members on new machines and processes.
