Compensation: $45-$60/hour ($95k-$125k per year plus bonuses)

Location: Concord/Salisbury/High Point, NC

A Fortune 500 company I'm working with are looking to add Automation Engineers and Technicians into a growing team to help maintain their manufacturing sites across North Carolina and the U.S.

This will be 4 on, 4 off 12-hour shifts and you will be eligible for shift bonuses above the stated compensation range.

What You’ll Do (Basic Job Functions)
  • Diagnose electrical, control, and automation failures, including PLCs, I/O modules, sensors, actuators, VFDs, and servo drives.
  • Monitor and adjust PLC logic and update HMI screens/alarms to maximize production quality and minimize downtime.
  • Support the startup and debugging of exciting new automation equipment and process improvements.
  • Read electrical schematics and P&IDs, collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams on root‑cause analysis, and champion continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate program backups, follow strict change control, and rigidly uphold safety policies (including Lockout/Tagout and Arc Flash procedures).
What You Bring (Minimum Qualifications)
  • 1–2 years supporting industrial PLC and automation systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands‑on experience with at least one major PLC platform (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, etc.) and familiarity with HMIs and field sensors.
  • A proven ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics.
  • Ability to work rotational shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays to support our 24/7 operations.
  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Experience with robotics, vision systems, safety PLCs, or servo applications.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems and equipment like automated roll forming, conveyors, or paint lines.
  • NFPA 70E, OSHA, or specific automation-related certifications.
