The ideal candidate brings strong technical ability, practical mechanical/electrical knowledge, and the drive to support rapid test turnaround in a competitive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on motorsports facility systems, including HVAC, chilled/process water, electrical distribution, compressed air, and exhaust systems.
  • Diagnose equipment issues quickly and accurately, supporting rapid testing schedules.
  • Maintain AHUs, including filter management, safety resets, inspections, and airflow verification for test cell environments.
  • Support troubleshooting of drive cabinets, dyno support electrical panels, and high-voltage equipment while adhering to strict safety procedures.
  • Maintain the readiness, inventory, and reliability of all test cell support equipment, including dynamometer facility interfaces and conditioning cabinets.
  • Support operation and upkeep of combustion air systems, cooling loops, heater coils, valves, pumps, compressors, and related instrumentation.
  • Ensure proper function of exhaust extraction systems, including VFD-controlled fans, mufflers, filtration, and gas monitoring equipment.
  • Work closely with test engineers to support quick configuration changes between test programs.
  • Perform assigned tasks on 480V/600V 3-phase power systems, switch gear, disconnects, breaker panels, and motors used in high-performance testing.
  • Follow all motorsports facility electrical safety standards, including NFPA 70E, LO/TO, arc-flash PPE, and equipment-specific safety protocols.
  • Perform PLC resets, safety string checks, sensor verification, and provide support to controls engineers during troubleshooting.
  • Use CMMS, BAS, and test cell monitoring software for work orders, alarms, and documentation.
  • Identify and report opportunities for improving system uptime, response speed, and energy efficiency.
  • Support installation of new dyno systems, cooling equipment, electrical upgrades, and motorsports facility improvements.
  • Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, rigging, and piping vendors during scheduled work and project activities.
  • Review drawings, equipment manuals, and safety requirements to support project execution.
  • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability under motorsports-level loads and test frequencies.
  • Conduct daily inspections of test cells, cooling systems, air systems, and facility infrastructure; escalate abnormalities promptly.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas consistent with motorsports operating standards.
  • Provide training or support to junior technicians and contractors as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Hands-on technician experience with mechanical, electrical, or facility systems in motorsports, automotive testing, industrial, or high-performance environments.
  • Knowledge of air handling units, cooling loops, drive cabinets, exhaust systems, and high-voltage electrical equipment.
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, P&IDs, mechanical schematics, and electrical prints.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, test cell controls, safety circuits, and CMMS/BAS tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a fast, methodical approach suited to motorsports timelines.
  • Effective communication and ability to collaborate with engineers, technicians, and vendors.
Preffered Qualifications
  • Degree or technical diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, or Facilities Engineering Technology (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience supporting dyno test cells, race engine development, or high-performance automotive systems.
  • Knowledge of NFPA, OSHA, and motorsports-specific safety and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in rapid turnaround environments or motorsports operations.
