Customer Service Rep

PurposeTo provide exemplary member service through all delivery channels, manage cash box operations, handle account opening and maintenance, respond to phone inquiries, manage safe deposit boxes, and perform all other services as needed.
DimensionsThis person greets members, responds to their needs or directs them to the appropriate person, department, or source, and dispenses information about various types of accounts and other Credit Union services.
Responsibilities- Handle establishment of new membership, open all accounts, and process changes in accounts.
- Educate members on available services and make recommendations based on their needs.
- Key all required transactions into the Margo system and balance the cash drawer with accuracy.
- Assist members with account problems, checking reconciliations, or errors in transactions.
- Grant subsequent advances on existing credit cards, open lines and home equity lines of credit – consult with an approving officer prior to advance.
- Answer phone calls, file paperwork, scan documents into the Image System, and perform other clerical duties as needed.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- High level of self‑control, self‑confidence, and positive attitude.
- Good basic mathematical skills and organizational and communication skills.
- Neat appearance and willingness to engage in ongoing training and professional development.
- Basic computer skills and ability to use the Margo system and Image System.
- Attendance in accordance with assigned schedule and ability to speak English fluently.
- Ability to cooperate and collaborate with co‑workers and remain cordial in all interactions.
- Must be able to use sound judgment, work well under pressure in a fast‑paced environment, and meet the work schedule and attendance policy established by the manager.
Office setting located near other employees with some background noise from coworkers, the copy machine, and telephone.
Physical Demands- Uses hands and fingers to lift telephone receiver and transfer calls.
- Uses hands and fingers to press keys on an adding machine, computer keyboard, and other equipment.
- Occupies work for 80% sitting, 10% standing, and 10% walking.
- Requires clear communication, attentive listening, visual acuity for completing forms, and the ability to lift up to 5 pounds.
- May climb stairs if branch is located on multiple levels.
