Position Overview

The Payroll & Accounting Specialist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations of The Pelora Group and affiliated entities. This role manages accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll administration, banking activities, advisor compensation processing, and financial reporting support.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple recurring processes while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and exceptional service to employees, advisors, and vendors.

Banking & Cash Management
  • Process agency deposits and banking transactions accurately and timely.
  • Record direct deposits, transfers, and other financial transactions in the general ledger.
  • Prepare cash resource reports and petty cash reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate banking records and documentation.
Accounts Payable & Advisor Compensation
  • Process vendor invoices through
  • Review invoices, obtain appropriate approvals, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Coordinate advisor allowance payments, including report preparation, payment processing, and reconciliation.
  • Process advisor special compensation payments, including agreement review, worksheet preparation, approval routing, and payment execution.
Accounts Receivable
  • Process advisor charges in accordance with the TPG Partnership Program.
  • Prepare billing worksheets and complete semi-monthly processing activities.
  • Maintain accurate receivable records and ensure alignment with Quick Books Online.
  • Process credit card transactions related to advisor receivables.
Payroll & Employee Administration
  • Process payroll through ADP, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
  • Review payroll changes, hours worked, incentive calculations, and retirement plan deferral updates.
  • Coordinate employee onboarding activities, including:
  • Maintain employee payroll and benefits records.
Reporting & Compliance
  • Prepare and submit quarterly North Carolina Sales and Use Tax reports.
  • Support annual 1099 review and processing with the firm's CPA partner.
  • Assist with financial audits, reporting requests, and special projects.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial and employee information.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Respond to employee, vendor, and advisor inquiries regarding accounting and payroll processes.
  • Complete monthly department task list requirements.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of accounting, payroll, bookkeeping, or finance operations experience.
  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with ADP, Quick Books Online, and  preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
