Financial Analyst II (NS)
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) announces an opening for a Financial Analyst II who will support the Provider Reimbursements Unit within the Finance Section of the Division of Health Benefits (DHB). The role focuses on rate setting, waivers, SPAs, and other reimbursement needs for a range of Medicaid programs.
Responsibilities- Perform financial analysis on assigned providers to determine payment rates.
- Research, understand, and interpret state and federal regulations affecting the programs.
- Track and apply changes to regulations and update reimbursement structures accordingly.
- Conduct comparative analysis using prior years’ cost information for individual facilities, other facilities, and national industry data.
- Assist in developing and implementing reimbursement strategies and policies.
- Provide analysis support to senior management and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, banking, finance, business administration, economics, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- At least one year of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred:
In‑depth knowledge of accounting theories and principles. - Preferred:
Ability to prepare interpretive or analytical accounting statements and reports, and communicate fiscal regulations. - Preferred:
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with experience in data analysis, forecasting, and modeling. - Preferred:
Advanced skills in constructing and utilizing analytical spreadsheets for support analysis. - Preferred:
Ability to identify appropriate data elements for analysis.
Salary Grade Range: $55,221 – $96,639. Recruitment Range: $55,221 – $72,100.
