As Ellingson looks to grow the business and strengthen profitability, we're seeking a strategic Chief Financial Officer to serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and ownership team. This person will help shape financial strategy, evaluate growth opportunities, optimize capital allocation, and build out the finance organization for the years ahead.
The CFO leads all financial operations at Ellingson Companies — financial planning and analysis, accounting, treasury, risk management, and compliance. This person partners closely with the CEO and executive team to drive sustainable growth, strengthen financial discipline, and build long-term value.
What You'll Do- Financial Strategy (10%): Shape long-term financial strategy and advise the CEO and executive team on capital allocation.
- FP&A (20%): Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning; deliver reporting and insights that drive better decisions.
- Accounting & Compliance (25%): Oversee accounting operations, GAAP compliance, internal controls, audit readiness, and tax strategy.
- Cash Flow, Capital & Risk (10%): Manage liquidity, banking relationships, financing, bonding capacity, and enterprise risk.
- Operational Partnership (10%): Work with operations and fleet on cost discipline, pricing strategy, and margin management.
- Team Leadership (25%): Build and develop the finance team, strengthen systems and processes, and support board governance.
- 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including senior-level responsibility
- Experience leading finance functions in construction, infrastructure, or related industries
- Experienced in mergers and acquisition
- Strong command of GAAP, financial reporting, CAPEX and internal controls
- Track record of leading people and driving performance in a complex, growing organization
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills
- Multi-entity or multi-state experience
- Experience with ESOP structures, or family-owned businesses
- Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
