This position will provide direct supervisory oversight to staff who provide key services in Adult Services to include APS Intake, the Comprehensive Alternatives Program (CAP) and SA In-Home Services (SAIH). This position will also provide additional back-up supervisory support to the unit’s clerical support staff, APS Assessments, Guardianship and Special Assistance (SA) staff. This position’s primary duties will include reviewing, screening and assigning APS reports;
overseeing staff assessment and initiation of services for new referrals and ongoing cases, facilitating appropriate agency responses to the emergency needs of open cases, monitoring programs for compliance with state statute, laws and expectations; providing direction and coordination of staff training; preparing for state audits; evaluating staff performance, interpreting state policy and ensuring proper policy implementation; attending meetings onsite and out of county;
monitoring program reports and assessments; ongoing case file reviews; program specific decision making and after-hours on-call coverage at minimum two (2) weeks per month (5pm Friday through 8:30am the following Friday) as well as other needed duties as assigned or required for the overall functioning of assigned programs. This position requires a team player who is flexible, has great organizational skills, exhibits great time management skills is able to think critically and work well in a fast paced environment.
- Master’s degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience;
- a bachelor’s degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience;
- a master’s degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience;
- a bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience;
- a bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of directly related experience;
- an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other requirements include possession of a driver’s license valid in the state of N.C.
Note:
In accordance with State mandates and the Halifax County Emergency Operations Plan, Halifax County Social Services staff are required to staff emergency shelters during times of disaster. Please be advised that every staff person is eligible to be assigned to an emergency shelter, or Emergency Operations Center.
