OverviewThis important Container as a Service (CaaS) engineering role has a primary focus of supporting the container platform ecosystem this role you will contribute to and support the corporate Enterprise Container Strategy by identifying ideas to improve system performance, efficiency, and introducing new capabilities. This includes improving and developing automation for cluster installation, system upgrades, patch management/compliance, and monitoring the overall environment.
ShiftSchedule and On‑Call
- Early morning shift: 6:00 am – 3:00 pm ET, with a 1‑hour break
- Evening shift: 2:00 pm – 11:00 pm ET, with a 1‑hour break
- On‑call rotation may require work after 11 PM; work from 7 PM EST to 6 AM EST. Comp off is allowed for extra hours.
Must be located in or willing to self‑relocate to one of the following locations:
Charlotte, Raleigh or Wilson, NC;
Atlanta, GA or Richmond, VA. Truist has in‑office requirements.
- Guide, educate, and provide thought leadership to delivery teams related to the adoption of Dev Sec Ops practices and frameworks.
- Champion Dev Sec Ops as a strategic asset to enhance business value delivery.
- Make informed decisions on tool selection based on vendor proficiencies for specific capabilities.
- Develop and recommend Dev Sec Ops best practices.
- Use analytical judgment to design innovative solutions for complex components of the Dev Sec Ops lifecycle.
- Work independently, with guidance only in the most complex situations.
- Provide technical and process guidance to junior team members.
- Build and maintain automation and streamlining of software delivery and operations for new or existing applications through proficiency with vendor tools in the Dev Ops lifecycle, including Infrastructure as Code, Agile and Lifecycle Management, Source Code Management, Build Orchestration, Build Management, Artifact Repository Management, Behavior Driven Development, Test Driven Development, Automated Testing (Unit, Integration, Functional, Smoke, Regression, Stress, Performance), Static Code Analysis, Load and Performance Testing, Artifact Scanning, Database Schema Management, Orchestration and Recovery, Compliance Automation, Audit Trails, Configuration Management, Containers, Application Release Automation, Deployment Strategies (Blue/Green, Canary, Rolling), Logging, Log Analytics, and Performance Monitoring.
- Liaise with the Dev Sec Ops Center for Enablement (C4E) to ensure enterprise tools or practices are followed and share information about team‑specific tools or practices that may benefit other teams.
- Actively participate in the Truist Agile Guild and Agile Dev Ops Communities of Practice.
- Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and related training.
- Seven or more years of experience in software engineering or IT, including at least four years in a role focused on git‑based application code development, Dev Ops Engineering, or development, maintenance, and support of CI/CD pipelines.
- Foundational cloud architecture knowledge.
- Demonstrated ability to write code.
- Demonstrated ability to construct a basic application build pipeline.
- Preferred:
- Experience working in Agile teams and knowledge of Agile development & release practices.
- Banking or financial services experience.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes design standards, patterns, and best practices.
- Knowledge of micro‑services design standards, patterns, and best practices.
- Proven track record as SME for container projects and managing day‑to‑day operations of a container platform.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and good listening skills.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to analyze problems from multiple perspectives.
- Can‑do attitude, passion for technology, and willingness to learn new skills.
- Confident, self‑starter, strong work ethic, and team orientation.
